ANNE WANNER'S Textiles in History   /  Chalice veils /Kopenhavn

Charlotte Paludan informs
about Chalice veils of Danske Kunstindustrimuseet, Kobenhavn

In Lutheran churches very elaborate textiles are not common, therefore scarce in the museums. The only one in Kunstindustrimseet is a modern chalice veil, designed and executed by Gertie Wandel, the founder of the Danish Handicraft Guild in 1928. The veil was made around 1939 for a church near Copenhagen in the memory of a deceased brother.
