Art. 1 Aim of the CompetitionL'Associazione per il museo della Seta di Como is promoting the 2nd Competition for a bobbin lace about the decorative theme of a printing block. This notice of Competition and the black and white photo of its block are on the web-site and at the Museo. The Competition is international and is open to all European citizens (EC Countries and Switzerland): schools, groups, associations, other educational institutions and museums, craftsmen, artists, designers and other interested parties, which will be considered authors. Participation

S, Art. 2 -EntriesEach participant will take part in the Competition with one sole project, original and hand-made with the bobbin lace technique; projects must be realized using silk for the most part, combined with complementary materials or additional elements. Projects, three-dimensional too, must be of small dimension, the maximum cm.25x25x25. Art. 3 - Property of the Competition's entriesThe delivered project must be original and not previously published: non-compliance of these rules will mean exclusion from the Competition. Participation in the Competition is based on compliance with the foregoing conditions and the next ones. Art. 4 -Time limit and deadlinesAll submissions must be delivered by 31th May 2007, after paying 30,00; in the case of delivery by mail or courier, the date of the postmark or the consignment note will be not considered as proof of compliance. The document must be sent postage paid to the Museo didattico della Seta, via Valleggio, 3 22100 Como (Italy). Indicate on the envelope: 2° CONCORSO PER UN MERLETTO A FUSELLI MUSEO DIDATTICO DELLA SETA 2007. Participation in the Competition will be anonymous: projects must have a title in a combination of 12 figures (letters or Arabic numerals), without any signature or reference mark. With your entry, you should enclose an envelope. On the outside of the envelope, write only the title of your design. Inside the envelope, include the following information: - name, surname, date of birth, address, country, telephone -fax and e-mail; - a brief description of the project should include: the title, detailed technical description (sizes, materials used etc.) and how the lace will be used; - a color photo of the work, about cm.10x13, which the Museum has the right to utilise the for its communication programs, with the express consent of the designer. Please seal this envelope so that your details remain anonymous to the Judges until after a decision has been made. For delivery each container must bear the words "document for an international competition, no commercial value. The entries sent for the Competition will be returned (by mail at their own expense) in 60 days from the end of the exhibition of September 2007 and will remain property of participants. Personal data and information submitted to Museum will be used in respect of the Italian law n° 675/96 (privacy) and only for the purpose of competition. Art. 5 -The Judges and their role, awards and prize-givingThe Judges will be composed of experts in Art, Design and Lace and will select the projects in accordance with the competition rules; originality and aesthetic-aspects are the most important criteria. The panel of Judges will decide on a majority vote with final decisions not subject to appeal: the winner will be given an award of 1.000,00. The panel may award six entries, and the authors will gain lace threads supplies for the value of 100,00. Competition winners will be informed and prize giving will take place at the Museum in Como during the inauguration of the exhibition, September 2007. Participants will be awarded a Certificate. Art. 6 Work expositionWorks will be presented during the special exhibit dedicated to the Schools of lace organized at the Museum in September 2007. By sending the work, the designer agrees to allow it to be exhibited and its image to be used.
